Borderlands

Is it correct to say that Anzaldúa, unlike Vasconcelos although she does refer to him, presents us with many borders which she does not attempt to synthesize? That her mestiza, unlike his raza cósmica, is designed to remain marginal, and not to take over the ‘center’ or become a hegemonic figure? How does it and/or does it not matter that her ‘borders’ are between the Hispanic and the ‘Anglo’ world and between languages? Is it in her deployment of language(s) that she is at her most radical?
